02/ FlxSynErg: Energy from biomass - Flexibilization of wastewater treatment plants

Wastewater treatment plants can provide an important contribution to the energy transition and the preservation of the natural cycles of life. Here we discuss current environmental and socio-ethical issues relating to the further development of wastewater treatment plants for the targeted generation of gas and electricity from biogenic residual and waste materials.
